Learning to be a Shutterbug

While underway during the last project, on an impulse I ordered a new toyIMG_20170328_112221.jpg

And there she is!

Long hours and sleep deprivation may have contributed slightly to this purchase (I’m still looking through the mail pile for my personal blender which I thought I ordered, but apparently only dreamed about!), but I figured it would be a good investment.

A mirrorless DSLR, it’s relatively small and portable, which is perfect for carrying around on travels when I want something more than grainy little photos from my phone.

Ok, to be fair, my OnePlus2 phone takes pretty good photos for what it is. But sometimes you just want something… more.

So last night I decided to break this bad boy in and take advantage of the “Golden Hour” at sunset. So I headed down to the Greater Charleston Naval Base Memorial for a bit of a walk in the park and to get a few photography pointers. Have a look:

And there ya go!

Any tips or comments from the photography experts out there? Or recommendations for places to go from the Charleston locals?
